AH to Go – at work
Dutch retailer Albert Heijn opened an unmanned version of AH to Go in an office building owned by coffee machine company Pelican Rouge. Albert Heijn cooperated with Selecta, a Swiss company responsible for the unmanned mini-supermarket Foodie’s. This food concept has zero staff, products can be scanned using a self-service scanner and the store can be open 24 hours a day if necessary. Each store is custom built, no two locations are identical.
The ambition is to have a minimum of 100 unmanned AH to Go versions open this year. Thanks to the corona pandemic, the office has been given a different function, with fewer people working regularly on site it has become more a place to meet. This makes the mini supermarkets a welcome addition to any catering facility.
