DIA- The number 2 retailer in Spain

The Spanish “soft discounter” DIA has just (according to KANTAR -july 2016-) reached number 2 position in the retail trade in Spain overpassing Carrefour. On top of increased sales coming from new stores format, DIA has bought 150 stores previously owned by EROSKI and some 400 stores coming from the acquisition of the regional retailer EL ARBOL. DIA has achieved a turnover of over 4.000 million euros in the first semester ‘16 and is trading in the Madrid stock exchange market at a stock price of 5,55 eur per share coming from around 7,50 eur per share (max score in a 5 year period in may 2015).
